The research project Mapa Escolar de Valencia (School Map of Valencia) was born out of an agreement between the City Council and the University of Valencia in order to carry out an investigation of the compulsory education system of the city and propose, if necessary, modifications to the current school zoning. This article describes the main results of an ethnographic study on citizen participation carried out in the context of the development of the Urban Initiative (2007-2015): Cuenca-Barrio de San Antón. Managed by the City Council of Cuenca and financed by the European Regional Development Funds (FEDER) under the Ministry of Economy and Finance at the Government of Spain The results of the research show how in the context of the application of neoliberal policies, citizen participation becomes the trigger for new conflicts between institutions and citizens. The article presents the main results of a study whose purpose has been to investigate the educational development of the municipalities through the actions implemented by the City Councils in the Spanish context. It contains the implementation and validation of a proposed model of stages for educational development, which has resulted in the literature review, 17 in-depth interviews, 2 discussion groups, the pilot implementation of the Model in 3 municipalities, and its validation in practice. This bill endangers the municipal social services system because it deeply modifies the conception thereof (leaning social services towards charity), the distribution of powers (taking competences to the town and city councils) and the public responsibility (encouraging private management and the commercial exploitation thereof). El proyecto de un pórtico clasicista para la iglesia de los Santos Juanes de Valencia y su impacto en el entorno urbano (1788-1856)

In the year 1788, the parish of Los Santos Juanes in Valencia proposed to the City Council the erection of same classical-style portico in order to beautify its outer eastern façade, surrounding the head of the temple and relying on the Plaza del Mercado. This portico was never built, but there would be an impact of such an architectural purpose in subsequent reform plans of that outstanding urban location.
